Ingredients

For the Sandwich

  • 2 slices slices bread (any kind you prefer) Select from rustic sourdough to fluffy white.
  • 1 medium ripe avocado, sliced Slice into silky ribbons.
  • 2-3 slices tomato Bursting with juiciness.
  • 1 tablespoon butter For a golden, crispy outer layer.
  • 2-3 slices fresh mozzarella Creamy and melty.
  • to taste salt and pepper For seasoning.
  • 1 teaspoon balsamic glaze or pesto Optional for added flavor.

Preparation

  • Butter one side of each slice of bread.

Layering the Ingredients

  • On the non-buttered side of each slice, layer fresh mozzarella, followed by avocado slices, and finish with tomato slices. Add salt and pepper to taste, and drizzle balsamic glaze or pesto if desired.

Grilling

  • Heat a skillet over medium heat and grill the sandwich butter-side down for 2-3 minutes until golden brown.
  • Carefully flip and grill for another 2-3 minutes until the cheese starts to melt and the bread is crispy.

Serving

  • Remove from the skillet, slice diagonally, and serve hot.

Notes

Use fresh ingredients for the best taste. Experiment with different types of bread for unique textures. For a vegan version, substitute butter with olive oil and mozzarella with plant-based cheese.
