Ingredients

Salad Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, halved or sliced
  • 8 oz fresh mozzarella, cubed or in pearls
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, torn or chiffonade
  • 1/4 cup toasted sliced almonds or pine nuts (optional) Optional for extra crunch

Dressing

  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tbsp balsamic glaze (or aged balsamic vinegar)
  • 1 tsp honey (optional for extra sweetness)
  • 1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp sea salt

Instructions

Assemble the Salad

  • In a large serving bowl, combine the sliced strawberries and mozzarella.
  • Add fresh basil and, if desired, toasted almonds or pine nuts for an unexpected crunch.

Make the Dressing

  • In a small bowl, whisk together the extra virgin olive oil, balsamic glaze, honey (if using), sea salt, and freshly ground black pepper until fully combined.

Drizzle & Toss

  • Gently drizzle the balsamic dressing over your salad concoction.
  • With care, toss all the ingredients together to ensure each piece is evenly coated and the flavors meld beautifully.

Serve & Enjoy

  • Right before serving, garnish the dish with extra basil leaves for a touch of freshness.
  • This salad is best enjoyed fresh.

Notes

For an even better experience, try using heirloom tomatoes or adding walnuts or pecans instead of almonds. Balance the sweetness of the strawberries with the dressing's acidity.
