For Topping

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a large skillet, warm over medium heat. Add the ground beef and chopped onion, breaking up the meat as it cooks. Sauté until the beef is browned and cooked through. Drain any excess fat.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, white vinegar, sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, and season with salt and pepper.
  • Pour the sauce over the browned beef mixture in the skillet. Stir in the finely chopped dill pickles. Let it simmer for an additional 2–3 minutes.
  • If desired, toast the hamburger buns lightly to add a crispy texture.

Assembly

  • Spoon generous amounts of the beef mixture onto the bottom half of each bun. Top it with shredded lettuce, shredded cheddar cheese, and extra pickles for a burst of flavor. Cap them with the top bun and serve warm.

Notes

To elevate your Big Mac Sloppy Joes, consider adding cooked bacon bits or using a mix of cheddar and mozzarella cheese for extra gooeyness. For a spicy twist, mix in chopped jalapeños or a splash of hot sauce in the beef mixture.
