Ingredients

For the cookie dough

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Provides a creamy texture and rich flavor.
  • 1 cup granulated sugar Adds necessary sweetness that balances the tartness of blueberries.
  • 2 large eggs Acts as a binding agent, giving the cookies their lovely structure.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Infuses a warm, aromatic essence that enhances the overall flavor.
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour Forms the base for your cookies, creating that comforting, soft bite.
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda Helps the cookies to rise, giving them a fluffy appearance.
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt Enhances all the flavors beautifully.
  • 2 cups fresh or frozen blueberries Bursting with juicy goodness, these are the stars of the recipe.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened unsalted butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in the eggs one at a time, ensuring each is incorporated fully before adding the next. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • In another bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. Mix these dry ingredients together.
  • Gradually add the dry mixture to the creamed butter mixture, stirring until just combined.
  • Gently fold in the blueberries, taking care not to smash them.
  • Drop spoonfuls of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, allowing space between each scoop.

Baking

  • Place the baking sheets in the preheated oven and bake for 12-15 minutes or until cookies are golden brown around the edges.
  • Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

For fresher flavor, consider using fresh blueberries over frozen. Chilling the dough for 30 minutes can enhance cookie texture.
