Instructions

Caramelizing the Pears

  • Begin by heating a pan over medium heat. Add a tablespoon of unsalted butter and allow it to melt.
  • Once the butter is melted, add the pear slices to the pan. Drizzle with honey or maple syrup and sprinkle with black pepper.
  • Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until the pears turn golden brown and are caramelized.

Preparing the Dressing

  • While the pears are caramelizing, prepare the dressing by combining the olive oil, balsamic vinegar, Dijon mustard, and a teaspoon of honey in a small bowl.
  • Whisk until all ingredients are well combined and emulsified. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

Assembling the Salad

  • Arrange the fresh arugula on a large serving plate.
  • Place the warm caramelized pears on top of the arugula.
  • Sprinkle the toasted walnuts and crumbled blue cheese over the salad.

Drizzle & Serve

  • Generously drizzle the prepared dressing over the assembled salad.
