Ingredients

For the Stuffing

  • 1 tablespoon honey plus extra for topping
  • 1/2 cup crumbled blue cheese
  • 1/4 cup toasted walnuts, chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper

For the Pears

  • 4 pieces ripe pears, halved and cored choose ripe but firm pears
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
  • Fresh thyme sprigs for garnish

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Slice the pears in half and carefully remove the cores.
  • Arrange the pear halves on a baking sheet with the cut sides facing up.

Filling

  • In a small bowl, stir together crumbled blue cheese, chopped walnuts, and honey.
  • Generously spoon the blue cheese mixture into the hollows of each pear.
  • Drizzle balsamic vinegar over the stuffed pears and sprinkle with ground black pepper.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes, until the pears are tender and the cheese is bubbly.
  • Finish with an extra drizzle of honey and fresh thyme before serving.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to four days. Reheat at 350°F (175°C). Experiment with different types of cheese and nuts to personalize the flavor.
