Ingredients

For the Chicken

  • 1 lb boneless skinless chicken breasts cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 tbsp olive oil to brown the chicken
  • 1 tbsp butter adds depth to the dish
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/2 tsp paprika for smoky warmth
  • 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning enhances flavor

For the Pasta

  • 8 oz fettuccine or linguine pasta tender and ready to soak up sauce
  • 2 tbsp butter for the creamy sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic minced for the sauce
  • 1 1/4 cups heavy cream for a velvety texture
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese adds cheesy flavor
  • to taste Salt & black pepper to enhance flavors
  • a pinch nutmeg optional, for warmth

Instructions

Boil the Pasta

  • Begin by boiling salted water in a large pot. Add your fettuccine or linguine, cooking until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of the pasta water before draining.

Prepare the Chicken

  • Season chicken pieces with salt, pepper, paprika, and Italian seasoning. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat and sear chicken for 5–6 minutes until golden and cooked through.
  • Add butter and minced garlic to the skillet, stir for about a minute until fragrant, then remove the chicken and set aside.

Make the Creamy Sauce

  • In the same skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Gradually stir in the Parmesan cheese, salt, pepper, and nutmeg.
  • Toss the cooked pasta in the creamy sauce, using reserved pasta water as needed to adjust the consistency.

Combine & Serve

  • Top the creamy pasta with the garlic butter chicken. Garnish with chopped parsley and additional Parmesan. Serve immediately.

Notes

For a layered flavor, marinate the chicken beforehand. Add seasonal vegetables or a splash of lemon for brightness. Substitute heavy cream with lighter alternatives if desired.
