  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder Adds an aromatic depth to the beef.
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder Delivers a subtle sweetness and savory flavor.
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt Enhances all the other flavors.
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper A touch of spice that elevates the dish.

For Assembling the Wraps

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese Rich, creamy, and melts beautifully.
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese Adds a stretchy, gooey quality.
  • 1/4 cup diced tomatoes Fresh and vibrant.
  • 2 pieces green onions, chopped Adds a crisp texture and a herby note.
  • 4 large flour tortillas Soft and pliable.
  • to taste ketchup Optional, for classic burger flavor.
  • to taste mustard Optional, for a tangy kick.
  • to taste pickles Optional, for a crunchy bite.

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef and cook until it’s browned, about 5-7 minutes. Break it apart with a spatula as it cooks and drain any excess grease.
  • Once the beef is browned, season it with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Stir to combine and allow the flavors to meld for another 1-2 minutes.

Assembling the Wraps

  • Lay a tortilla flat on a clean surface. Start by sprinkling a generous layer of cheddar and mozzarella cheese onto the center of the tortilla.
  • Add a portion of the seasoned beef on top of the cheese, followed by diced tomatoes and chopped green onions. Drizzle with ketchup or mustard if desired.
  • Fold the sides of the tortilla inward to encase the filling, then roll it tightly from the bottom to the top until it forms a neat wrap.

Cooking

  • Heat a grill pan or skillet over medium heat. Place the wraps seam-side down on the pan. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they turn golden brown and crispy.
  • Once grilled, remove the wraps from the heat. Slice them in half and serve warm with your favorite dipping sauces or enjoy as they are.

Notes

Feel free to mix and match your cheeses! Pepper jack can add a spicy twist, while gouda offers a smoky flavor. You can also add spinach, bell peppers, or mushrooms for extra nutrients and flavor. Prepare the beef mixture ahead of time and store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
