Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and line three 8-inch round cake pans with parchment paper.
  • In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • In another bowl, cream the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Incorporate the lime juice, zest, and vanilla extract.
  • Alternate between adding the dry ingredients and buttermilk to the wet mixture, beginning and ending with the flour mixture. Mix gently until just combined.

Baking

Frosting
