  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil Adds a rich, nutty flavor.
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar Creates a balance of sweetness to the savory elements.

Rice and seasoning

  • 2 cups warm cooked rice The ultimate comfort food base.
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar To enhance the flavors of the rice.
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar To season the rice perfectly.
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt Essential for flavor enhancement.

Toppings

  • 1 medium sliced cucumber Adds a refreshing crunch.
  • 1 medium sliced avocado Creaminess that contrasts beautifully with the beef.
  • 1 cup shredded carrots Colorful and nutritious.
  • 1 bunch sliced green onions Provides brightness.
  • to taste spicy mayo (optional) For a kick of heat.

Instructions

Marinate the Beef

  • Mix soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, rice vinegar, black pepper, and optional sesame seeds in a large bowl. Add the sliced beef, ensuring each piece is coated. Cover and chill for at least 30 minutes.

Cook the Beef

  • Heat a grill pan or skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the beef slices in batches for 3-4 minutes on each side until browned and cooked through. Set aside to rest.

Season the Rice

  • In a mixing bowl, stir together rice vinegar, sugar, and salt. Combine with warm cooked rice and stir gently until evenly distributed.

Assemble the Stack

  • Layer your ingredients on a plate: start with seasoned rice, add marinated beef, then top with cucumber, avocado, shredded carrots, and green onions. Drizzle spicy mayo if desired.

Notes

For optimal flavor, let the beef marinate longer. Grilling adds a smoky flavor. Customize toppings with additional veggies or sauces. Pre-cooked rice can save time.
