For the Steaks

  • 2 pieces T-bone steaks (about 1 1/2 inches thick) Known for their tender meat and rich flavor.
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil Helps to create a lovely crust when cooking.

Instructions

Make the Herb Butter

  • Mix the softened unsalted butter with chopped parsley, thyme, rosemary, garlic, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper in a medium bowl.
  • Blend the ingredients thoroughly with a fork until well distributed.
  • Place the mixture onto a piece of plastic wrap, roll into a log, twist the ends to secure, and chill in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.

Prep the Steaks

  • Season each T-bone steak generously with salt and black pepper on both sides.
  • Rub the steaks with olive oil and let them sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes.

Cook the Steaks

  • Preheat your grill or skillet to high heat.
  • Cook the steaks for about 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare (around 135°F).
  • Use a meat thermometer for accuracy and let the steaks rest briefly after cooking.

Add the Herb Butter

  • Remove the cooked steaks from heat and transfer to a cutting board.
  • Top each steak with a slice of chilled herb butter and cover loosely with aluminum foil.
  • Let sit for a few minutes to allow the butter to melt into the steak.

Serve

  • Slice the steaks, showcasing the delicious pink center, and serve with your favorite sides.

Notes

Consider marinating the steaks in olive oil, garlic, and additional herbs for more flavor. Don't rush the resting period. If desired, add crushed red pepper flakes or smoked paprika to the herb butter for an extra kick.
