  • Extra strawberry slices or mint leaves (optional) Garnishing for presentation

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Cut the puff pastry into 9 equal rectangles.
  • Prepare the baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper.
  • Brush the pastry rectangles with the beaten egg wash, then sprinkle lightly with granulated sugar.
  • To prevent puffing, place another sheet of parchment and a second baking tray on top of the pastries.

Baking

  • Bake for 15-17 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
  • Once baked, let them cool completely.

Assembly

  • In a large bowl, beat the mascarpone cheese until smooth and creamy.
  • Add heavy cream, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and lemon zest. Beat until thick and fluffy.
  • Toss sliced strawberries with 1 tbsp of sugar (optional) and let sit for 10-15 minutes.
  • Assemble your Napoleon: Place one pastry rectangle on a serving plate, pipe or spoon a thick layer of mascarpone cream over it, then add macerated strawberries.
  • Repeat the process with another layer of mascarpone cream and strawberries, and finish with a final pastry rectangle.
  • Dust the top with powdered sugar and garnish with a strawberry slice or mint if desired.
  • Serve immediately or chill for up to 2 hours before serving.

Notes

Ensure puff pastry is cold for cutting and baking. You can use pre-made puff pastry. For enhanced strawberry flavor, consider adding lemon juice or mint. Experiment with different fruits for variations.
