Instructions

Prepare the Dough

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the active dry yeast and sugar in warm water. Allow it to sit for 5-10 minutes until it becomes foamy.
  • Stir in the olive oil and salt, then gradually add the all-purpose flour. Mix until a cohesive dough forms.
  • Knead the dough on a floured surface until smooth and elastic, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Cover the bowl with a clean kitchen towel and let it rise in a warm spot for about 60 minutes, or until it has doubled in size.

Prepare the Sheet Pan

  • Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  • Grease a large sheet pan with olive oil.
  • Once the dough has risen, punch it down to release the air, then gently press it into the greased sheet pan, stretching it to fit into the corners.
  • Allow it to rest for another 10-15 minutes while you prep your toppings.

Add the Toppings

  • Spread the pizza sauce evenly over the stretched dough.
  • Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella and sharp cheddar evenly on top.
  • Add the chopped green bell pepper, red onion, and sliced olives across the cheese.
  • Finish with a sprinkle of dried oregano and add red pepper flakes if desired.

Bake to Perfection

  • Place the sheet pan in the preheated oven and bake for 18-22 minutes.
  • The pizza is ready when the cheese is bubbling and golden brown, and the crust edges are lightly crisped.

Serve and Enjoy

  • Remove the pizza from the oven and let it rest for about 5 minutes.
  • Cut into thick squares and serve hot.
