Ingredients

Macaron Shells

  • 100 g 1 cup almond flour A fine, nutty flour that lends a tender structure.

  • 50 g 1/4 cup granulated sugar To stabilize the meringue.

  • Pink gel food coloring For coloring the macarons.

Vanilla Filling

  • 115 g 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened Adds a luscious richness to the filling.
  • 180 g 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar Sweetens the filling to perfection.
  • 2 tbsp heavy cream Brings the filling to a perfect consistency.
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract Enhances the filling's sweetness.

Instructions

Make the Macaron Batter

  • Sift 1 cup of almond flour and 1 3/4 cups of powdered sugar into a large bowl.
  • In a separate bowl, beat 3 large egg whites until frothy, gradually adding 1/4 cup of granulated sugar until stiff peaks form.
  • Gently fold the almond flour mixture into the egg whites in batches, then add pink gel food coloring and mix until uniform.

Pipe & Bake

  • Transfer the batter into a piping bag and pipe heart shapes onto a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  • Let the macaron shells sit for 30-40 minutes until they develop a skin.
  • Bake in a preheated oven at 300°F (150°C) for 12-14 minutes.

Prepare the Vanilla Filling

  • Beat 1/2 cup of softened unsalted butter until fluffy.
  • Slowly add 1 1/2 cups of powdered sugar, 2 tbsp of heavy cream, and 1 tsp of vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.
  • Pipe the filling onto half of the macaron shells and sandwich them with the remaining shells.

Chill & Serve

  • Refrigerate the macarons for 12-24 hours to intertwine the flavors.
  • Serve the macarons and enjoy with family and friends.
