Main ingredients

  • 1 wheel brie cheese (8 oz) Creamy and rich, this cheese is the star of the dish.
  • 1 ripe pear, thinly sliced Sweet and juicy, its texture contrasts perfectly with the brie.
  • 2-3 pieces fresh figs, halved Their natural sweetness elevates the flavor profile.
  • 1/4 cup walnuts, roughly chopped Adds a delightful crunch.
  • 2 tbsp honey Plus extra for drizzling.
  • 1 tsp fresh thyme leaves Plus sprigs for garnish.
  • 1 pinch flaky sea salt Enhances the flavors and adds texture.
  • to taste freshly ground black pepper (optional) For added warmth.
  • as needed crackers or toasted bread For serving.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a small baking dish or sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  • Place the brie wheel on the prepared dish. Arrange the pear slices and fig halves artfully on top of the cheese, followed by the chopped walnuts for added texture.
  • Drizzle everything generously with honey, sprinkle fresh thyme leaves, flaky sea salt, and a touch of black pepper over the top.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the brie is soft and just starting to ooze but still holds its shape.

Serving

  • Transfer carefully to a serving board. Drizzle with extra honey and garnish with fresh thyme sprigs. Serve immediately with crackers or toasted bread.

Notes

Ensure the brie is at room temperature before baking for even melting. Consider using pecans or almonds instead of walnuts. A sprinkle of cinnamon or nutmeg can enhance the holiday spirit. For extra sweetness, add a dash of balsamic glaze.
